Sound familiar?
Months of practice. Still can’t play a song all the way through.
Eight months on an app. Ask them to play you something.
Streaks and points feel like progress, right up until someone asks to hear a song.
Nobody is correcting your technique.
An app can tell whether the right key went down. It can’t see a tense wrist or a collapsing finger, and habits set in early.
You keep starting over.
Without someone expecting you next week, practice slides, then stops, then starts again from page one.
The lesson is 30 minutes. The round trip is 50.
Driving across town every week turns a half-hour lesson into an evening.
The teacher nearby isn’t the right fit.
Your choices were whoever was closest, not whoever teaches the music you love at your level.

Learn at your own piano
Open the app at home and play. Everything from the lesson is saved for you afterward.
Why a real teacher
What a human teacher gives you that an app can’t.
Eyes on your hands
Your teacher sees your posture, wrist and fingering, and fixes it in the moment, before it becomes a habit.
Music you actually want to play
Classical, jazz, pop, gospel or worship. Your teacher picks pieces for your goals, not a one-size-fits-all song list.
Someone expecting you next week
A real relationship keeps you practicing when motivation dips. That’s what gets you to the end of a song.
A plan built around you
Kids, adults, total beginners and returning players all start where they are, at their own pace.
1on1 Piano doesn’t teach. Your teacher does.
We built the room. Your teacher brings the experience, and we make sure nothing gets lost between you.
Inside a lesson
Lessons that feel like you’re in the same room.
Not a video call with a piano in the background. A lesson room built around the instrument.
Hear the real piano
Real acoustic piano tone by default. With two digital pianos, your teacher’s playing sounds on your instrument over MIDI.
See every angle
Your teacher can show their hands, face, music and keyboard at once, and switch views in a tap.
Watch the notes light up
A live staff and keyboard show exactly what’s being played, so reading and sound come together.
Keep everything after
Recordings save to the cloud automatically, with transcripts, summaries and your marked-up music in one place.

For parents
See who teaches your child, and stay involved.
Choose the teacher yourself
Read real profiles first, including the age groups each teacher works with, their music style and their personality.
Lessons at home, within earshot
No more piano-class taxi runs. Lessons happen at your own piano, and you can listen in from the next room.
Notes you can actually read
Lesson summaries, recordings and assignments live in your classroom, so you always know what to practice.
Questions
Good to know before your first lesson.
Is it really free for students?
Creating an account and browsing teachers on Match is free. You pay your teacher directly for lessons, at the rate they set.
Do I need a digital piano?
No. An acoustic piano works, and its real tone comes through by default. If you have a digital piano with MIDI, you can connect it for an even closer, piano-to-piano lesson.
What devices does it work on?
iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. A tablet or laptop on the music stand and a phone beside the keys is all most students need.
Is it for kids or adults?
Both, including complete beginners. Teachers list the age groups and skill levels they work with, so you can find one who fits.
