This guide will help you identify the ports on your piano and your computer/device and choose the right cables.
There are four ports you are likely to see on pianos:
1. “Old School” (5-pin Din Connectors)
2. USB-B Port (the most common). Can be connected to with a “printer cable.”
3. USB Mini ports (usually found on older, compact MIDI devices
4. USB-C (the same as on modern phones and computers), typically on very new pianos
There are 3 Connectors you are likely to see on computers and devices:
1. USB-A
2. USB-C
2. Lightning (Legacy iOS)
